The "RP" Series pneumatically activated VRCs are ideal for moving loads up to 500 lbs. vertically between two levels. Utilizing a pneumatic cable cylinder to raise and lower the powered conveyor between levels, travel speeds top out at 150 feet per minute (fpm). Top and bottom shock absorbers make sure your products are transferred safely from level to level.
Due to the cantileverd carriage design, product movement configurations can be Z Flow, C Flow, Right Angle Flow -- or a combination.
Powered Chain-Driven-Live-Roller Conveyors (CDLR) are offered for your heavier loads while our popular Multi-Poly Belt Conveyors are ideal for your lighter loads. A variety of conveyor speeds are available to match your infeed / outfeed conveyors - 30 fpm, 45 fpm, 60 fpm and 90 fpm.
All our Vertical Conveyors meet or exceed current ANSI B20.1 safety guidelines. Features include product sensing photoeyes, safety tunnels at entry and exit points, fully guarded / protected frames, safety placards and our tried and true, cam activated Free-Fall braking system. All units ship completely prewired with all devices tied into a terminal strip in a junction box. Full PLC controls are available upon request.
The "RC" Series - Electric Reciprocating Conveyors
"RC" Series
The "RC" Series Chain/Motor Driven VRCs are ideal for moving loads up to 500 lbs. vertically between two or more levels. Utilizing a top mounted motor/brake/reducer unit to raise and lower the conveyor bed, speeds can range from 60-90 fpm. Positioning and over-travel limit switches assure proper conveyor positioning all the time.

CASE STUDY PHOTOS: HIGH SPEED LIFT:
Lift Specifications: 200 lb. Capacity, 4 Cycles or 8 Cases / Minute, 10' Net Lift
The photos below are for a recently shipped high-speed VRC. In order to meet customer cycle times, we increased the length of the conveyor bed to accomodate two 100 lb. boxes per stroke. In doing so, we opted for dual lifting chain configuration to evenly lift this longer conveyor between levels. The Sumitomo drive motor was oversized to work in conjunction with a variable speed drive to reach speeds of nearly 150 feet per minute.
Chain Driven Live Roller Conveyor with front/back case sensing photo sensors.
CDLR Center Driven Motor. Wired to carriage mounted junction box.
Strong, Smooth Rolling Steel Cam Followers. No rubber or plastic rollers on our lifts.
Strong Uni-Welded Frame assuring vibration and noise minimizing operation.
No External Wiring - All wires run through flexible cable track.
Almost Complete. Lexan Guarding to be added and it's ready for shipping to customer.

Reciprocating or Continuous
There are many times when an application appears to call for a Continuous Vertical Conveyor -- when the rates are generally higher.
But . . . . . . . . .
Keep in mind that a Reciprocating Vertical Conveyor, double loaded, can achieve rates up to 10 cases/boxes per minute -- depending on the box/case sizes and the vertical rise or "net lift".
Continuous Vertical Conveyors are limited to only two (2) elevations and a "Z" pattern (product flow).
Reciprocating Vertical Conveyors can be loaded/unloaded from three (3) sides (C flow, Z flow, Right Angle Flow) and at multiple elevations -- so the design possibilities are endless.
Continuous Vertical Conveyors are harder to control and a misfed product can sometimes cause a jam which can damage the lift as well as the products.
Reciprocating Vertical Conveyors are much easier to control and jams are not as apt to damage the machine or product being conveyed.
These are just some things to consider when deciding between these two types of lifts.
